Being elementary school friends with Chad Colorina, Co-Director of Reminisce San Diego (http://www.reminisce-sandiego.com/), it was a no-brainer when he asked for a little bit of help in throwing “Balls of Fury”, a fundraiser to help raise awareness for multiple sclerosis. The event was an overall success, and enough money was raised so that Chad can participate in the 100 mile bike ride from Irvine to Mission Bay in October. Double cheeseburgers, bacon-wrapped hotdogs, full bar, a ping pong tournament and free throw challenge were all present. It took a lot of people to make the event successful. Much time was donated for preparation, volunteers were needed for servers and referees, and businesses donated their products/services for raffle.
Chad was humbled by the turnout, and had this to say to everyone that helped and made it out:
“Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to the MS Event this past sunday! I finally had a moment to look back at the event and realized it all happend so fast. As the event came closer each day it seemed as if the time was moving faster and faster. What started as a simple fundraiser to a bbq with friends to help raise money and awareness for MS turned into a well planned event full of fun activites and great people. All of this couldnt have happened without the participation of everyone who came. I hope everyone not only had a good time this past sunday but also went home knowing the participated in event for a good cause. Thank you all for coming and donating to the MS on Behalf of TEAM BETTY’s HOPE! Next up is aa 100 Mile ride with all the team.
Special Thanks to all of our donated Gift Baskets & Help around the kitchen & Games!— So many to name I’m afraid to miss anyone but we all know who you are and for that I thank you very much for everything you did to help this event become what it was.”
The Ping Pong Champion was the homie Mike, who had to win 5 games against some pretty tough competition. Not only did he win the tournament, but him and his girl came away as the biggest winners of the night, winning 3 extra raffle prizes on top of the prize pack that came with winning the tourney. Lucky guys!
Great way to spend a Sunday. Fliccs posted below, enjoy!
