Yesterday we came out to the Fil-Am fest in National City. For the neighboring communities, you’ve all heard or past by these festivals in the past. Quite honestly, this was our first time being at the National City fest. It was a blast! Our booth was right next to the stage so we basically kicked it and watched performances all day. There were cultural dances, songs, and Navy Award presentations. Our favorite part though was the dance battle between some little kids and some teens. I forgot the name of the groups, but the battle got pretty intense. Them little kids were so sick! They ended up winning the battle in a very close decision and won $500 dollars for their team.
It also wouldn’t be National City without the lowriders, so you know they had to come out floss their cars. Lowrider cars need to be appreciated up close and in person, the art that goes on some of these riders are just unbelievably detailed. Pictures won’t do these justice, but we included some in this post anyway.
Anyway, we intend to be at the Fil-Am fest in October, the one off of Potomac and Paradise Valley Road. This event draws upwards of 8,000 people and is sure to be a pimpin’ good time. We should be ready by then. Til then, stay tuned and enjoy the fliccs HOLLA!
